The climbing crag «PRIVE» is located 8 km northeast of Serres and along with the “Simaies” and “Small Viros” (or Skala), is the daily escape for climbers from Serres. Although due to the south-south-east orientation, the altitude (500m) and the proximity to the canyon Prodromos it is ideal even for the hottest summer afternoons.
Access – Approach
At both entrances of Serres there are access signs to the monastery of John the Baptist as well as in the city. If you get lost in Serres, head to St. John (eastern suburb) and turn after the bridge (sign for the monastery) to the antenna park that is visible from the road. For those who are coming from the east (Drama-Kavala) turn 600 meters after the Serres Hospital heading north to the park antennas. When you arrive at the parking area on the right where the flags of the monastery are placed, turn right and down to a dirt road (black bar) and after 800 meters of good quality dirt road you arrive to a flat ground where you leave your car. From there follow the path marked with piles of stones for 5 minutes.
